Knights of Valour Jousting
We are pleased and excited to once again present the City of Guelph's Jousting show, as performed by trained riders and horses! Knights on horse back prance, lance and parry as they vie for the audience's favour.

Gustav the Queen’s Bard
Gustav continues the tradition of opening Faery Fest with the first stage act following the opening of the Gates to Faery Land! Accompanying himself on an eclectic variety of instruments, Gustav’s voice travels across the fields of enchanment to your ears cradling you in its magic.
Magic by Gil
From a full scale stage show with masterful illusions, to astounding walk-around street magic, Gil is a wizard wherever he goes.
Watching him perform, is seeing magic for the first time! That's because, despite his knowledge and mystical power, Gil is still the wide-eyed boy intrigued with mysteries at every turn. He loves magic so much, he wants to share the feeling of "wonderment" with you.
Alexander Winfield
Alexander Winfield is a Bermudian-born puppeteer who has performed with his puppets across the world. He has been featured at the Oxford UK Oxfringe Festival, at the Puppets Up! festival in Almonte, and has performed at the World Festival of Puppet Theatre in Charleville-Mezieres, France. He and his puppets work to ensure the quirky, the bizarre, and the goofy have a fighting chance in the nine to five world!

Their style is influenced by the playing of many of the current New England dance bands, and is sure to keep you on your toes with a strong, steady back-beat and energetic fiddling. They have performed all over Ontario, including Ottawa, Owen Sound, Toronto and Hamilton; in the U.S.; and at a plethora of school, community, camp and wedding dances.
Knockgrafton Productions
Jennifer White and Robert McMaster are a magical addition to any entertainment program. Jennifer works out of a long-standing bardic tradition of harping and storytelling, taking listeners on musical journeys into the magical worlds of Celtic myth and legend. She has taken a unique approach to the craft by enriching the storytelling experience with original and evocative musical settings she has composed for Celtic Harp. Robert McMaster is an eclectic percussionist. What, you may ask, is an “eclectic” percussionist? Well, to quote Robert, he’ll “hit anything that won’t hit back,” when searching for that perfect tone. You’ll find Robert behind the rhythm of each song and story he and his partner Jennifer weave magically on stage.
Birds of Prey Show

Author: Lesley Livingston
http://www.lesleylivingston.com
Lesley is a writer and actor living in Toronto, Canada. Captivated at a young age by stories of mythology and folk lore, past civilizations, and legendary heroes, she developed into a full-fledged Celtic Mythology Geek, steeped in stories of the Otherworld, Faeries and King Arthur. Lesley went on to earn a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Toronto specializing in Shakespeare and Arthurian literature.
For almost three years, Lesley hosted weekly late-night movie marathons on the nationally broadcast television show, SPACEBAR, as the Waitron-9000, a sparkly holographic waitress with an encyclopedic knowledge of obscure B-movie trivia. She is also a founding member and principal with Tempest Theatre Group and HardcoreNerdity.com
Her Books:
Wondrous Strange: Kelley Winslow is living her dream. Seventeen years old, she has moved to New York City and started work with a theatre company. Sure, she's an understudy for the Avalon Players, a third-tier repertory company so far off-Broadway it might as well be in Hoboken, but things are looking up—the lead has broken her ankle and Kelley's about to step into the role of Titania the Fairy Queen in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Faeries are far more real than Kelley thinks, though, and a chance encounter in Central Park with a handsome young man will plunge her into an adventure she could never have imagined.
Darklight: In this sequel to Wondrous Strange, Kelley Winslow finds her NYC acting career blossoming as she takes the lead in Romeo and Juliet. But she also finds herself desperately missing Sonny Flannery—who was forced back to the Faerie Otherworld, charged with a dangerous mission...

Author: Adrienne Kress
Adrienne Kress is a writer and actress born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She majored in Drama at the age of 11 at the Claude Watson School for the Arts, and continued to follow this path through post-secondary school, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Toronto with an honours BA in theatre. She then moved to London England to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and stayed for three years, acting in a variety of productions. Upon her return to Canada, she joined the Tempest Theatre Group, a Shakespearean theatre company, and continued to produce and direct her own work.
Running parallel to her passion for acting was always her passion for writing. In high school, she won the Gordon C Johnson award for her work, and in university she studied with top Canadian playwright Djanet Sears. The play she wrote as a result of that experience, A Weekend in the Country, was performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2004 and in Toronto at the Summerworks Theatre Festival in 2007, to excellent reviews and sold out houses.
Inspired by a trip to the town of Bath, Adrienne wrote Alex and the Ironic Gentleman while living in London, England. Although her first book, Alex, was snapped up almost immediately by publishers around the world – UK/Commonwealth, USA, Italy, Romania, France, Greece, Belgium, Indonesia and Germany – where the translated version of her title reads as Die halsüberkopfundkragendramatischabenteuerliche Katastrophenexpedition der Alex Morningside. Seriously.
The sequel to the book, Timothy and the Dragon's Gate, has also been picked up by publishers around the world and was released in the United States, Canada and the UK and Commonwealth in early 2009.
Adrienne is presently living in Toronto where she is continuing her writing, acting and directing careers.
Her Books:
Alex and the Ironic Gentleman: Alex is an orphan, her parents having been involved in a tragic spelunking incident in Iceland. She lives with her Uncle, who owns a doorknob store on the side of a bridge, and she attends a fancy-schmancy school called The Wigpowder-Steele Academy.
It seems that the original Wigpowder was a very wealthy pirate, who entrusted the distribution of his spoils to a rich philanthropist named Steele by way of a treasure map. Over time, bitter family feuds and fencing duels, the location of the map was forgotten and new generations of Wigpowders and Steeles are still quite busy hunting for it. Sure enough, some very unpleasant gentlemen soon arrive in town, and before long the trouble begins.
Timothy and the Dragon’s Gate: Timothy Freshwater has finally been expelled from the last school in the city. As if that were not enough, events conspire to ensnare him in an ancient quest. When he meets Mr. Shen, a mysterious Chinese gentleman who is a mailroom clerk at his father’s office, Timothy finds himself deeply entrenched in a rescue operation centuries in the making.
It turns out that the diminutive, elegant Mr. Shen is a dragon, banished and forced to take human shape for a thousand years until he can resume his true form by scaling the Dragon’s Gate during a festival for the 125th year of the dragon. When Mr. Shen falls into the wrong hands, Timothy is flailing in treacherous waters, literally. And then a strange-looking black brig with red sails, called, for some reason, the Ironic Gentleman appears on the horizon. Relying on his own ingenuity and an annoying new ally, a girl called Alex, Timothy must face up to his responsibilities and rescue the dragon from a fleet of Chinese pirate junks.
